Patient Complaints |
| |
|
Occasionally, the ADASA receives patient complaints and, where necessary, acts as a mediator between members and their patients. Complaints should be forwarde in writing to:
"The Executive Officer" C/O Australian Dental Association - SA Branch PO Box 858 Unley SA 5061
Complaints: The role of the ADASA in dispute resolution
The ADASA is the recognised organisation representing the dental profession. It sets and maintains ethical guidelines and standards for the profession so that the highest quality of care for patients may be maintained. Membership is not compulsory and not all dentists are members. The ADASA encourages patients to resolve any concerns they may have with the treatment provided by their dentist prior to referring their concerns to the ADASA.
What happens when a complaint is made?
• Permission is sought from the complainant (by signing a Patient Consent Form)to refer his/her letter to the dentist in question. • A copy of the letter is sent to the dentist for consideration and response. • A response is forwarded to the complainant following consideration by the Review Committee. • The matter is referred to the ADASA Review Committee.
