There are three upcoming vacancies, two in November 2022 and one in February 2023, with applications invited from those interested in improving Australian health outcomes.

The Australian Dental Council, the independent accreditation authority for the Australian dental professions, is inviting applications from anyone interested in improving Australian health outcomes for the organisation’s Board of Directors.

There are three upcoming vacancies available, two in November 2022 and one in February 2023, all due to the expiring tenure of existing members. 

Of primary importance to the Board is the values alignment of applicants to the values of the ADC and a willingness to actively contribute to the culture and governance of the organisation. 

To be considered for these positions, you will demonstrate the following: 

- Thorough understanding of governance and fiduciary duties associated with Board Directorship. 
 
- Ability to contribute strategic thinking to organisational priorities, risk management and business development and growth. 
 
- Well-developed communication and influencing skills, including the ability to build strong networks and professional relationships. 
 
- Commitment to the values and strategic priorities of the ADC. 

In addition to the above, mandatory criteria for appointments include: 

- GAICD or equivalent, or a willingness to complete. 
 
- A commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural safety, ideally coupled with an understanding of the critical role of cultural safety in improving public health outcomes.

1.    A cover letter (max 2 pages) that identifies the skills, background and experience you will bring to the ADC as a Board Director and demonstrates your alignment to the ADC’s values; 

2.    Full Curriculum Vitae; 

3.    Two professional references with contact details; and 

4.    Complete the Skills Matrix
