ADA Seal of Approval for ADA.org.au
The Australian Dental Association Seal of Approval is a dental sector leading program, originally launched in 1988, identifying and granting quality dental products the prestigious ADA Seal of Approval.
Through the “Seal of Approval” program, the ADA offers the general public assurances of the consumer products they are using for oral health benefits and efficacy as to the accuracy of claims made for the product. The Seal of Approval can be found on endorsed over-the counter oral health products by many leading brands, including toothpaste, mouthwash, chewing gum and more.
Program objectives
The program aims to meet the following objectives:
- Recognise over the counter products with an Oral health benefit where products can be established to be safe, efficient and in respect of the advertising claims made by the manufacturer/distributor.
- Provide the general public assurances of the consumer products they are using for oral health benefits and efficacy as to the accuracy of claims made for the product.
- Ensure that the advertising of products holding the “Seal of Approval” is accurate and not misleading.
Trust & confidence
Use of the Seal of Approval cannot be bought by a manufacturer. This means both dental professionals and general public can be certain that any product bearing the ADA Seal of Approval has passed a rigorous evaluation process and research-backed claims have been meticulously verified by ADA’s leading panel of experts. This validation underlines the reliability and effectiveness of products that carry the Seal of Approval.
