The Australian Dental Association serves as the peak body for dentists, driving advocacy to advance oral health, support our members, and influence national policy.  

Our policy and advocacy efforts are tailored to the interests of the dental profession and public health. The ADA works on myriad issues including oral health initiatives, clinical standards, and workforce issues. 

Recent focus areas include:  

​Influencing government on sugar reduction, mouthguards, and older adults’ dental care. 

Oral health campaigns and promoting water fluoridation in regional areas. 

​Advocating for Child Dental Benefits Schedule improvements and extensions. 

​Engaging in parliamentary and government inquiries on dental access, funding and workforce. 

​We provide policy advice through a variety of advocacy work including developing submissions and advocacy campaigns.
