In a segment on Channel 9 News last night, ADA President Dr Chris Sanzaro said that while some of this work can be of good quality, there are real issues around informed consent, appropriate treatment and decent follow up for care.

Rising dental costs in Australia are sending many Australians to get work done overseas, says a report on Channel 9 News last night.

But as ADA President Dr Chris Sanzaro explains, while some of the work done outside of Australia can be of good quality, he has seen evidence of "evidence of root canals that are not technically well done, [and] crowns that have got big gaps around the edges of them".

He also points out there are real issues around informed consent, appropriate treatment and decent follow up for care.
