The ADA maintains an active presence in every state and territory, providing education and face-to-face assistance to members, delivering public oral health advisory services, and advocating on key issues affecting the profession.
The ADA is your professional home. The federal benefits of your ADA membership keep your practice safe and compliant, connect you to your professional community, and represent your profession.
One of the most impactful ways to contribute to the Australian dental profession is to provide your time, experience and expertise to an ADA committee/s. This two-year commitment gives you an opportunity to make a substantial contribution to the life of the ADA and your profession by playing a role in the formulation of ADA policy, practices, educational and advocacy efforts.
Being a member of a committee involves:
• Participation in at least two meetings each year, which may involve interstate travel and/or teleconference/videoconference; • Regular engagement between meetings on relevant and time-sensitive matters; • Research, strategic thinking and contribution to policy discussions which form the basis of recommendations made to the Board; and • The opportunity to directly engage with ADA office bearers, senior management and secretariat staff.
Nominations open for ADA committees every two years with the next round opening in September 2026 for the 2026-28 period. You will be asked to select committees that match your skills and knowledge, and for which you have a genuine interest.
The Board is responsible for making financial and operational decisions to ensure that the goals of the ADA's strategic plan are achieved.
