Therapeutic Guidelines: Oral and Dental Version 4

The ADA is giving members access to the full Therapeutic Guidelines Version 4, including Oral and Dental Guidelines.

Therapeutic Guidelines is a point-of-care clinical resource available at your fingertips to assist you in making sound clinical decisions, in the moments you need it.

Version 4 is an extensive expansion to the Oral and Dental guidelines involving 16 expert group members and 12 external reviewers. Totalling 100 topics, the updated content will include revised drug recommendations, 20 new photos and a raft of flow charts and printable figures. – See What’s New in V4 – a summary of Oral and Dental updates.

Digital Access and Support

From today, all ADA members receive digital access through a custom ADA access link. You can also access the TG through the National Digital Library and from the Therapeutic Guidelines page on the ADA website.

Access to the Therapeutic Guidelines is through a web browser or the TG mobile app. For more information view the TG User Guides.

If you would like additional support to access or use the Therapeutic Guidelines, please contact the ADA membership team at membership@ada.org.au

(Tip - If you haven’t logged in to the National Digital Library for a while, you might be asked to select your institution - type in ‘Australian’ and select ‘Australian Dental Association Ltd’ from the list)

Printed book

Fee paying members will also receive a printed copy of the TG Oral and Dental - the ‘clown book’. The book is in print production, and will be available from around March 2026. Details will follow next year.

Please note this is the last time Therapeutic Guidelines will support a print edition. The Therapeutic Guidelines has been a digital product for 9 years now, and Dentistry is the only profession still using a print book. The book becomes out of date the day it is typeset. As scientific evidence-based guidelines, their greatest value is being kept up to date.

Peer - ‘Ask Me Anything’  – with the ADA Dental Therapeutics Committee

Live on Peer between 8th-19th December.

Once members have received digital access to the Therapeutics Guidelines, the ADA Dental Therapeutics Committee members will be hosting an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Peer to help you get the most out of the updated Therapeutic Guidelines: Oral and Dental V4.

Head over to Peer to submit your questions to the Committee between the 8th-19th December.
