Indemnity insurance is offered via your local ADA Branch. Each branch offers different indemnity insurance options so please contact them for more information.

Note - ADA Federal membership includes access to the digital version of the Therapeutic Guidelines Oral and Dental Version 4. Fee-paying ADA Federal members will also receive a print edition of the Therapeutic Guidelines Oral and Dental V4 - the ‘clown book’ – currently in print production and available from June 2026. Therapeutic Guidelines will no longer be offering a print edition after TG Version 4. 

When you join ADA via your local branch, your ADA Federal membership fee is included - you receive access to the full range of ADA Branch and ADA Federal member benefits and support.

  • Annual – Your ADA membership renews each year on 1 July.  You will be contacted to renew your membership.
  • Pay in instalments - You can pay in monthly or quarterly instalments.
  • Auto-renewalYou can set your membership to automatically renew each year.

Your membership category ensures you receive the information and services most relevant to you. 

Your ADA Branch sets your membership category.  If you are unsure which membership category applies to you, please contact your ADA Branch to discuss your membership category.

Your invoice payable to your state branch includes both your state and federal fees. Your invoice will be sent to you by your branch.

For ADA NSW members - your branch has split state and federal billing.  You will need to pay two separate invoices, one from your branch and one from ADA Federal.

  • New ADANSW members will be asked to create an account in the ADA Federal member portal, where you can access and pay your invoice.
  • Existing ADANSW members can find a copy of your ADA Federal invoice in your ADA Federal member portal.

After payment is received, please allow up to 5 working days to access full member benefits.

If you have not received access after 5 working days, or if you require immediate access, please contact us.

ADA offers complimentary membership for dentistry students:

Undergraduate student studying full-time at an Australian university.

Full-time post-graduate students including students who are also in paid dental employment for less than 385 hours per year.

Australian Dental Council (ADC) candidates studying for your registration exam.  Once you are a registered dentist you can join as a fee-paying member.

Graduates

Graduand membership is free within the same financial year that you graduate from studying dentistry at university. Then graduate membership rates are reduced for your first year and second year following graduation, to support your transition into the workforce.

The ADA offers a reduced part-time membership rate for dentists employed 16 hours per week or less.

If you are changing from part-time to full time work please get in touch to change your membership category.

Yes, you can receive complimentary ADA membership while you are taking a leave of absence. 

Please get in touch so we can update your category and membership fee. 

Yes, you may be eligible for complimentary ADA membership while you are undertaking full-time post-graduate studies, if you are also in paid dental employment for less than 385 hours per year.
