Launching Monday March 17, 2025, Ahpra introduces a new online portal with enhanced security (multifactor authentication, and biometric identity verification).

The new system will deliver a new Ahpra portal for practitioners and digital smart forms for all new applicants and registration renewals.

Key changes

New practitioner portal and digital forms

• Launching Monday March 17, 2025, Ahpra introduces a new online portal with enhanced security (multifactor authentication, and biometric identity verification).

• PDF forms are replaced with ‘smart’ digital forms for most applications and renewals.
Simplified concerns reporting.

• A new ‘Raise a Concern’ form allows health services to submit notifications as an organisation, eliminating the need for individual staff submissions.

Transition to general/specialist registration

• Practitioners transitioning from provisional or limited registration must submit applications before their current registration expires.

• Failure to do so will require renewing the existing registration, incurring double applications and fees.

Service disruptions during transition

• Certain online services, including registration applications and the concerns form, will be unavailable from Wednesday, 12 March

• During this period, concerns can be raised by phone (1300 419 495, Mon–Fri 9 am–5 pm) or email.

Email applications are accepted, but using the new portal is encouraged for faster processing.

• From midday Friday 14 March to 8 pm Sunday 16 March, most online services will be unavailable, except for the Register of Practitioners.

Where to find more information

• Ahpra will provide a dedicated portal help centre on its website.

• Registered health practitioners will receive email alerts detailing the new sign-on and verification process.
