Dental profession graduates who will complete their course of study in the next three months can apply for registration now, meaning applications can be assessed while they wait for their final results.

The Dental Board of Australia (he Board) has launched its graduate registration campaign which allows graduands who will complete their course of study in the next three months to apply for registration now, meaning their applications can be assessed while they wait for their final results.

With registration with the Board required before anyone can commence work as a dental practitioner – for information on registration and a host of other things crucial to successful launching a career as a dentist, go to The Dental Graduate Handbook – the campaign means that graduands can get start on a critical part of career preparation early.

The steps to do so are straightforward:

1. Create your account using the online services portal and complete your application.

2. Upload your documents and pay the required fees. Check that you have provided all required documentation to prove you’ve met the registration standards, including certified copies of your photo ID.

3. Wait for your education provider to provide your graduate results to Ahpra.

Upon receipt of final results from the education provider and a determination that all the required documentation has been provided, the Board can then finalise the application.

Once this is done, the graduate’s name is published on the Register of practitioners and they can start work as a dental practitioner immediately.

For more information on supplying everything necessary for a successful application, and the requirements needed for documents and photos that need to be supplied, go to The Dental Board.
