As part of the campaign to mark this global dental health promotion event, people are being encouraged to #BrushandBoogie to get the message about good oral health out there.

World Oral Health Day (WOHD) 2024, which will take place on 20 March, is coming up fast.

As part of the campaign to mark this global oral health promotion event which is staged by the FDI World Dental Federation of which the ADA is a member, the ambassador of the 2024 campaign, Toothie the Beaver has issued a #BrushandBoogie challenge.

The aim is to amplify the theme of WOHD, “A HAPPY MOUTH IS …A Happy Body", by getting people to film themselves brushing their teeth to the music of their favourite song, a strategy long championed by the ADA in its brushing advice, available by its consumer-facing oral health information site, Teeth.org.au

Declaring that "A happy mouth can be a happy start and end of every single day if we boogie while we brush", WOHD has outlined three simple to Brush and Boogie.

1.Grab your toothbrush and toothpaste (make sure it’s fluoride toothpaste).

2.Turn on your favourite tune.

3.Then brush and boogie like no-one is watching.

Anyone who wants to take in the #BrushandBoogie challenge simply has to add the star-studded Toothie effect available on Instagram, and create a fun Reel or post with a video or photo of them brushing their teeth while they boogie to their favourite tune.

People are also being encouraged to challenge their friends to join the #BrushandBoogie movement too, and when they post, to @worldoralhealthday and @ToothieBeaver
