Interpretation of Cone Beam Data Sets
The course will cover the theory of CBVT, the applications of CBVT, 3D radiographic anatomy and interpretation of odontogenic pathology using CBVT data sets. Pathology of the para-nasal sinuses will also be covered in some detail. The practical component will demonstrate the use of a wide FOV CBVT unit and the use of various software programs used to manipulate CBVT data sets. The limitations of CBVT will be covered in some detail as they impact significantly on appropriate use and interpretation of cone beam data sets. The theory will be covered predominantly in the morning. In the afternoon session, delegates will work as individuals or in small groups, through a series of CB data sets and then the findings will be discussed. The course is NOT designed to turn dental operators into Oral radiologists, but to give them basic skills to review cone beam data sets so as not to miss significant pathology.
