The Bite Stuff - Occlusion for the General Practitioner
Dental occlusion is the way the teeth in the maxilla and mandible come together. We all know that whilst some patients occlude beautifully many patients have teeth that are out of position. We mostly accept our patient’s occlusion and work within that arrangement, remembering that the best articulator is to be found in the patient. This evening lecture discusses a sensible approach to the topic of occlusion in general dental practice. It will provide some current evidence-based principles for guidance to understand this contentious and often confusing topic. The discussion will provide some practical guidelines and procedures to follow in practice.
