Grants open now
ADA Dental Study Grants (First Nations) aim to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians who are enrolled as full-time students in an Australian dental degree that qualifies them to practise as a dentist and are currently in at least the second year of their degree.
Five grants, each worth $5000, are awarded each year.
Grant dates: 1st March to 11 April 2025.
Eligibility
The ADA Dental Students Study Grants (First Nations) will be available to dental students:
i. Who are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (First Nations) descent, identify as First Nations and are accepted as such by the community in which they live.
ii. Who are enrolled full-time in an Australian undergraduate or graduate entry dental degree leading to registration as a dentist and have completed at least the first year of that degree.
iii. Have not already been the recipient of two or more of any of the ADA Study Grants.
iv. The study grant is not open to students who are enrolled in courses to qualify as a dental hygienist, dental therapist, oral health therapist, and/or dental prosthetist.
Successful applicants will be selected by a panel appointed by ADA. Recipients of the ADA Study Grant (First Nations) will be required to provide a brief report detailing how the grant assisted them.
