In recognition of their service to Australian dentistry and to the health and wellbeing of the wider Australian and global community, these people were recognised as part of the 2023 Australia Day Honours.

The ADA would like to warmly congratulate the following people who have been recognised as part of the 2023 Australia Day Honours for their considerable services to Australian dentistry and to the health and wellbeing of the wider Australian and global community. 
 

MEMBER (AM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION OF THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA 

 
Dr Mark David LEEDHAM (Northern Territory) 

For significant service to dental medicine, and to professional organisations. 

Dr Elizabeth Ann COATES (South Australia) 

For significant service to special needs dentistry, and to oral health care 

Dr Neil John PEPPITT (New South Wales) 

For significant service to dentistry, and to tertiary education 

 

MEDAL (OAM) OF THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA IN THE GENERAL DIVISION 

Dr Ernest Yinson CHAN (New South Wales) 

For service to the community, and to dentistry. 

Mr. Uri WINDT (New South Wales) 

For service to the Jewish community. (Of particular note for dentistry, is Mr. Windt's time as co-founder and Chair of Filling the Gap, an Indigenous dental charity, from 2005-2015.)
