Advocacy update: Media responds to ADA's call for greater PHI transparency

The ADA's call for private health insurance policies to be clearer for customers has been picked up by the media, another example of the ADA's increasing visibility on matters affecting dentistry.

In a major media release yesterday, the ADA called for "more transparency around the muddy waters of private health insurance policies to bring clarity to around 15 million Australian policyholders."
Speaking about the need for greater policy transparency, ADA President, Dr Chris Sanzaro said:
“The ADA and our 17,000 members want to see private health insurers providing more transparency and clarity on their fee and rebate structures, not least when PHI premiums are increasing at a higher rate than dental fees.
“By doing this and making their policies more easily understood, they may find it drives more consumers to take up PHI policies in future.”
Here's how the media responded to the ADA's call including a conversation on ABC Radio's Night Life with Philip Clarke on Monday 24 March 2025, which was syndicated across the ABC radio network nationwide to millions of listeners.
