Lecture: 1- Diagnostics in endodontics - Pulp testing - Terminology - Considerations – aetiology, non-odontogenic, red flags 2- Prognosis and outcome - Define terms, prognosis vs outcome - How is endodontic outcome measured/assessed (in literature and in clinical practice)? - Healing dynamics vs success/survival. - What are the factors that contribute to outcome/prognosis and how can these be applied in practice? (pre-operative, intraoperative and post-operative factors) - What are the factors associated with treatment failure? - Patient-centred outcomes in endodontics. - How can we assimilate the above information into a framework for case assessment and patient discussion? 3- Apply the above through clinical case discussion.
