A number of technique exercises will undertaken to demonstrate options for management of ageing patients who present with a range of challenging clinical concerns. Topics to be covered will include; Assessing the ageing patient and the ageing mouth Protecting exposed root surfaces – Reducing sensitivity and improving aesthetics and the appropriate use of the appropriate fluoride regime Root surface caries – Is it manageable? Techniques for the deep interproximal posterior restoration Fibre reinforced restorations - for compromised and missing teeth Patient friendly procedures – Managing the frail and feeble patient The hopeless tooth – To restore or extract?
