The World Oral Health Day 2023 (WOHD 2023) campaign has been officially launched on 22 September, unveiled as part of t's he FDI World Dental Federation’s (FDI) World Dental Parliament, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Continuing the FDI Be Proud of Your Mouth initiative, WOHD 2023 is an empowering call-to-action to people to take charge of their oral health, with the stress not on having a perfect mouth but a healthy one.

The three-year campaign, of which 2023 is the third and final instalment, has always sought to inspire lasting and positive change by educating people on the vital role a healthy mouth plays in their lives with the 2021 campaign focusing on the close link between good oral and overall health and the 2022 campaign underscoring how an unhealthy mouth can impact every aspect of a person’s life.

Building on these past themes, which encouraged people to be #MouthProud, the 2023 campaign centres on the importance of maintaining good oral health throughout the entirety of your life with the tagline, “Be proud of your mouth for a lifetime of smiles”.

As in previous years, the ADA, which is a member of FDI, will be supporting this key event.

A full campaign toolkit will be released in October so WODH 2023 supporters can get started early promoting this key oral health promotional initiative and be in the running for consideration for a WOHD award.
