How would you communicate the message of gum health to your patients?

We hope you have some great answers to that question because, for the third year in a row, we’re asking you to submit your ideas for the design of Dental Health Week (DHW! We want to know what you think the ADA’s oral health flagship event will look, and to create imagery that will resonate with your patients, community, and that of others around the country.

Dental Health Week is a national awareness campaign based on prevention. Its aim is to increase awareness of good oral hygiene and health practices, and in 2024, this messaging with focus on gum health in particular.

The competition

So, what are we after? We want a design that portrays the message of gum health, with a key audience of males and females aged 30-50.

As well as some original-looking artwork, we want you to include a snappy tagline in your entry that can be used as part of the campaign for social media promotion, marketing, and media. For your entry to be valid, both a tagline and design must be included.

Entries will be judged by a panel of judges based on the following:

- Creativity and innovation of the imagery and tagline
- Representation of the gum health message
- Appropriateness to represent DHW.

Not a graphic designer? Not to worry! Your idea could be a sketched by hand or put together using Canva, the beginners design software. Ultimately, the final version of the winning idea will be brought to life by a team of design professionals.

The winning design will feature as the DHW 2024 campaign concept, with the winner having their 2024/25 ADA membership fees reimbursed.
