ADA held its Annual General Meeting on Monday 24 November 2025, conducted virtually via Zoom with the voting managed by TrueVote, the ADA’s secure online meeting and voting platform.

ADA President Chris Sanzaro presented the 2025 ADA Annual Report, highlighting the success of Congress 2025, held last May in Perth. With 2,600 attendees, 40 speakers, and 131 exhibitors, we exceeded all our performance targets including revenue, attendance, exhibition and sponsorship.

Other highlights for the year included:

  • A highly successful Dental Health Week campaign on how neglecting gum health can affect the health of the rest of the body, reaching one million people, engaging widespread grassroots actions by member dentists and branches, and driving 7,500 enquiries to the ‘Find a Dentist’ page on Teeth.org.au.
  • Members accessed more than 25,000 hours of our national standards based, clinical, and practice-based CPD last year, empowering you as dentists to stay current and grow your skills in an ever-changing professional landscape.
  • Expanded range of member services offered through the HR Advisory service, with additional phone lines and extended hours to suit busy dentists.

The Financial Report for the year ended 30 June 2025 showed a robust balance sheet, with total comprehensive income of $1.36 million dollars, a significant improvement over the 2024 results driven by the strong financial performance of the 2025 Congress and the moderate increase in the valuation of the St Leonard's property.

The meeting supported the nomination of Professor Eric Reynolds as an ADA Honorary Life Member, in recognition of his significant national contribution to further dentistry and the profession, and for the exemplary work he has achieved throughout his professional career. Our warmest congratulations to Professor Reynolds.

The current director appointments (elected and appointed) remain consistent with 2024-25. Congratulations to Dr Angie Nilsson and Dr Andrew Gikas for their formal election to the Board and Mr Peter Day on his formal re-appointment to the Board. Dr Angie Nilsson will continue in her role as ADA Vice-President. We are also pleased to report the re-appointment of our auditors Grant Thornton for this financial year.

A total of 388 members voted at the AGM, either on the night or by casting a proxy vote. All six resolutions were carried, and one special resolution was deferred to an Extraordinary General Meeting at a future date to be determined.

The Member forum with ADA President Chris Sanzaro and ADA Vice-President Angie Nilsson was well attended, with most AGM participants staying on for an engaging discussion about the ADA Board’s priorities for next year.
