World Oral Health Day 2026: share your happy moments online

A major oral health initiative of the FDI World Dental Federation (FDI), of which the ADA is a long-term active member, World Oral Health Day (WOHD) highlights "the essential role oral health plays in overall well-being throughout life, from infancy through older adulthood".

It’s the final year of FDI’s three-year “Happy Mouth” campaign with the focus this year on the close connection between oral and general health and how simple daily habits such as brushing and flossing, healthy eating and drinking, and visiting a dentist on a regular basis can make a profound difference to someone’s quality of life.

We’re excited for the day and for the potential to reach so many Australians about the message of good oral health, and the great news is there’s still time to get involved in the campaign.

FDI has created a range of eye-popping, easy-to-access WOHD resources, which include posters, social media resources, videos and even kids' activity sheets for your youngest patients!

You can also take part online by being part of the “Happy Moments” Instagram activation and join WOHD’s very happy mascot, Toothie the Beaver, in celebrating the power of a healthy smile.

Getting involved is simple:

2. Open the “Add Yours” story highlight

3. Tap the “Add Yours” sticker

4. Share your happy moment!

It’s a great way to mark the day and to celebrate the joy of a healthy mouth and a happy life and you can add even more promotional fun into the mix by streaming “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life” and then adding the song directly to your Instagram story.

Whatever you do, use the hashtag #HappyMouth and get the message out to everyone and make the most of WOHD 2026.
