Congress 2027 Come And Explore The Beautiful Host City Of Adelaide (2)

With the Adelaide Convention Centre, the host venue for Congress 2027, sitting close to the centre of South Australia’s capital, it makes sense that you will want to get out and explore the city before, during and after the event.

Thanks to our partnership with Business Events Adelaide, we have five great local attractions for you to check out when you head to the City of Churches next year.

Adelaide Central Market

A thriving market that remains an active hub of commerce in the city, the Adelaide Central Market has been the place to buy fresh produce for more than 150 years. Intersected by colourful avenues and roadways, it is the largest undercover fresh produce market in the Southern Hemisphere selling a wide variety of artisan products, fruit and vegetables and small goods. It was also named the third best food market in the world earlier this year!

Art Gallery of South Australia

Boasting an impressive art collection of more than 47,000 works of art from across the world, the Art Gallery offers free entry, along with free tours twice a day. Situated on North Terrace, which features an enviable collection of cultural institutions along its storied length, the Gallery has an extensive collection of Asian art, works by Australian women modernists, Islamic art and the largest collection of Morris & Co. decorative art outside Britain.

Adelaide laneways

Who knows what lies around the next corner? The laneways of Adelaide are filled with all kinds of cool discoveries with unique bars and cocktail lounges dotted around the lanes of Leigh Street, Peel Street and Gilbert Place and Adelaide’s east end. To get an idea of the variety of bars on offer, head to The Best Bars in Adelaide.

South Australian Museum

Dedicated to bringing Australia’s natural and cultural heritage to locals and visitors alike for over 170 years, the Museum holds collections of national and international significance, including world-class history and cultural collections. With exhibits showcasing everything from the beginning of life on earth to the most comprehensive display of Australian Aboriginal culture material in the world, the Museum has something for everyone.

Beautiful beaches / Park Lands

Leave the built environment behind and spend a day or two sunning yourself on the laid-back beaches in the metropolitan area, including the always popular Glenelg which features a wide, sandy beach, sidewalk cafes and stunning sunsets. Or head to what is billed as “Australia’s largest inner urban park system” and explore the 760 hectares of Park Lands, including a diverse array of plant life at the Adelaide Botanic Garden.

Get ready for Congress!

Congress 2027 (19-22 May) brings together world-class education, leading industry exhibitors and valuable networking opportunities.

Next year's Congress will be an especially memorable event, marking two major milestones: the 40th Congress staged by the ADA and the centenary of ADA South Australia. Both of these major anniversaries add an extra celebratory element to an event which is already a landmark moment for the dental profession.
