World-class expertise: Meet your first Congress 2027 Keynote Speakers

The highlight of any Australian Dental Congress is hearing live from a range of speakers from Australia and the world who might otherwise only be experienced in podcasts or YouTube recordings.

Brought to you by the ADA, next year’s Australian Dental Congress (Adelaide, 19-22 May), features a world-class Main Scientific Program which sheds an innovative light on current practice while looking ahead to promising trends and future possibilities.

It’s a great chance to also build up your CPD hours with content which will get you thinking, inspire changes in the way you practice, and push you to consider how you could do things differently.

We’re thrilled to announce the first three keynote speakers, all of whom will give delegates the chance to hear from people at the leading edge of their respective fields.

Meet your first three speakers

Professor Irena Sailer (Switzerland)

A Specialist for Prosthodontics (Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry), Professor Irena Sailer holds a Certificate of focused activities in Dental Implantology (WBA) of the Swiss Society for Dentistry. She has been the head of the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva since 2013, and she was the Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Robert Schattner Center, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania from 2009 to 2024. Since 2024, she has been an auxiliary Senior Associate Dean for Digital Transformation at Columbia University in New York, USA. Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Prosthodontics, Irena is also the author or co-author of more than 230 peer reviewed scientific manuscripts, seven book chapters and the monograph “Fixed Restorations – a clinical guide to the selection of materials and fabrication technology” together with Professor Bjarni Pjetursson and MDT Vincent Fehmer.

MDT Vincent Fehmer (Switzerland)

A Fellow of the International Team for Implantology and an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, MDT Fehmer worked at an oral design certified laboratory in Berlin, Germany from 2003 to 2009 before becoming the chief dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in Zurich, Switzerland (2009-2014). Since 2015 he has been the dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials in Geneva, Switzerland while running his own laboratory in Lausanne. A speaker on a national and international level, Vincent has published more than 75 articles in peer reviewed journals within the field of fixed prosthodontics and digital dental technology, contributed to book chapters and co-authored the book Fixed Restorations. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the QDT Yearbook, and the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry and is a Section Editor for the International Journal of Prosthodontics.

Professor Ove Peters (Australia)

A clinician-scientist at the UQ School of Dentistry, Brisbane, Dr Peters specialises in endodontics, root canal treatment, vital pulp therapy, and related research, with more than 35 years of clinical experience. Following academic roles in Heidelberg, Zurich and UCSF, he was the founding director of the postgraduate endodontic program and tenured Chair of Endodontics at the Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco, before joining The University of Queensland in 2020 as Deputy Head of School and Discipline Lead in Endodontics. Ove has published more than 260 peer-reviewed manuscripts, authored two books, and he serves as Associate Editor of the International Endodontic Journal. Honours include the Hans Genet Award (ESE), the Grossman Award (AAE) and the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award in Pulp Biology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and a Fellow of the International and American Colleges of Dentistry.
